About
Two connected cable car lines carry riders from downtown's Acevedo metro station up through Santo Domingo and over the eastern ridge into a 16,000 hectare nature reserve of Andean forest, a genuinely dramatic change of scenery for the price of a transit fare. Marked trails inside the park range from an easy loop to a half day hike, and weekend food markets set up near the main entrance selling produce grown in the reserve itself. Temperatures drop noticeably at this altitude, worth a layer even on a warm Medellin morning.
