Chef Juan Manuel Barrientos turned dinner into a multi course performance here, guests eat with their hands at points, chocolate gets rubbed into palms instead of served on a plate, and the whole thing runs long enough to be the entire evening rather than a stop before somewhere else. It is the Medellin restaurant most visitors have already heard of before landing, and the reputation is deserved even if the theatre is not for everyone. The Washington DC outpost earned Colombia's first Michelin star, a fact the Medellin original does not let anyone forget.
