Opened in 1961 on the Pasaje Junin half a block from Parque Bolivar, Versalles introduced Medellin to Argentine style grilled meats, milanesas and pastries at a price downtown office workers could actually afford, and both the menu and the crowd have stayed remarkably consistent since. Jorge Luis Borges is on record as having had coffee here, a fact the room is quietly proud of without making a show of it. It is a breakfast and lunch spot more than a dinner destination, closing well before the evening downtown rush.
